It started with a prayer⦠and a warehouse
It started with a prayer... and a warehouse
Back in 1999, on the south coast of England, our UK base launched a prayer room in an old warehouse. Why? Because prayer is the heart of the Christian life, and we weren't doing it very well.
But then something unexpected happened
But then something unexpected happened
Young people started flocking to the prayer room, even at night. They prayed with words, graffiti, and music. And God seemed to love it. Even atheists reported feeling His presence.
A vision took flight
A vision took flight
A poem scribbled on the wall ignited a movement. Within weeks, The Vision had reached hundreds of thousands of people worldwide, from underground churches in China to youth gatherings in Washington D.C.
And it kept growing
And it kept growing
Today, our movement has touched millions of people in thousands of prayer rooms across the globe. We're praying nonstop, from slums to breweries to punk festivals.
Rock nβ Roll, Baby!
Rock n' roll, baby!
This accidental movement of prayer, mission, and justice has caught the attention of everyone from Rolling Stone to Reader's Digest. And it's spawned new initiatives like Prayer Spaces in Schools, Order of the Mustard Seed, and 24-7 Communities.
